Philadelphia's new water meters have check valves built in. That means when your water heater heats up and the water expands, it has nowhere to push back. Without an expansion tank, the pressure builds inside your heater and it fails years early. We add an expansion tank to every install to maximize lifespan.
Dielectric Union
Okay, this gets a little chemistry nerdy. When two different types of metal touch, electrical interaction between them causes corrosion. In your water heater, this happens where the copper pipe meets the stainless steel inlet. Slow corrosion at that joint causes failure. To prevent that, we use a dielectric union to stop the metal-on-metal current. Your tank lasts longer because the top doesn't rot out.
Powered Anode Rod
This is the third super-power for maximizing water heater life. Inside the tank, this electric rod attracts the corrosive stuff in your water before the tank wall does. The manufacturer guarantees the anode for 25 years - if it goes, they replace the whole tank. Your install gets that warranty, plus our lifetime warranty.
This will be the last water heater you ever buy
(at this house, in this lifetime…)
Shower gone freezing cold? Pool of water oozing onto your basement floor?
A dead water heater isn't an emergency the way a burst pipe is, but it's close. And if the tank let go all over the floor, then it really is an emergency.
Here's what you do:
1
Turn the water heater off. If it's gas, shut the gas valve. If it's electric, flip the breaker.
2
If there's water on the floor, shut the cold water supply line to the tank. It's usually right above the heater.

Call us: (215) 715-9391. We keep two water heaters on the truck so we can do most installs same-day.
If you've got a lot of water on the floor, you'll probably need Water Restoration as well, but we can look at it and talk about it together.
We're not perfect, we're plumbers; butour workmanship warranty is forever.
And for water heaters, you get a lifetime warranty on the equipment itself too.
Yes, if you're still alive and the water heater you bought from us fails, we'll replace it. No charge.
Here's the thing — when I install things, it's a work of art. Straight, over, clean. Even though it takes more material. I'll be honest with you. Functionally, those two water heaters are both going to make water hot. But which one would you want to see every time you walk into your basement for the next 25 years?
Plumbing isn't about pipes. It's about taking care of people.
FAQs
The install — for as long as you own the house. If something we did fails, we come back and fix it. No charge. The tank itself is covered by a 25-year manufacturer warranty on the anode rod. If that anode rod fails inside 25 years, the manufacturer replaces the tank.
A standard tank lasts 10-12 years. A high-quality tank installed correctly lasts 16-20. The reason we can offer the lifetime warranty is we install at the high end, with the expansion tank + dielectric union + powered anode rod stack that most plumbers skip.
Depends. If you have natural gas and a big household with high hot-water demand, tankless can pay back over time. If you're a smaller household, or your house was built for a traditional tank, the traditional unit is usually the right call. We'll look at your setup and give you a real answer.
Same day is normal. We drive around with two water heaters in the truck. When you call, the dispatcher asks a few questions to figure out your tank size and fuel type, and the right replacement is already loaded by the time we head over.
Rust-colored water out of the hot side. Banging or popping sounds when it heats up (that's sediment hitting the bottom). Hot water that runs out faster than it used to. Water around the base. Any one of those — call us before it leaks.
Yes. Restaurants, multi-family, retail — we install commercial-grade units with the same install stack.
Yes. We'll walk you through what we're installing, where it goes, and what each piece does. If you want to see the kit on the truck before we open it, we'll show you that too.
Because the down-the-street quote is for a tank, two flex lines, and a thermostat. Our quote is for a tank, two flex lines, a thermostat, an expansion tank, a dielectric union, a powered anode rod, and a lifetime warranty on all of it. You're not paying for more parts — you're paying for the install that lasts.
